Introduction

A breif has been set from an Art Director who has done work with Sport England. We have been 'commisioned' to create a collection of images based on various types of sports reflecting the style seen the YouTube videos.

While doing some research into photograohers that may have done similar work or shoot in a similar style I found Morgan Silk. His images seems to reflect the style of the videos, quite unsaturated colour, sharp and quite stark photographs.

 

 

As you can seen from these two examples the style is very similar. From what I have found so far Silk usually works in the studio with three lights. Two flash lights fitted with beauty dishes either side and one fitted with a soft box above the camera. While this can be replicated to a degree on location (as we learnt in the previous project) if shooting motorsport or something highspeed or with a lot of motion this set up will not work. Therefore a camera mounted flashgun and daylight would have to surfice. However that said Silk's work has been run through a series of post-production editing to create this final style.
